Quick Facts About Forney
Forney is located about 20 Miles east of downtown Dallas. Forney was once known mostly for its antique shops, but it is now a rapidly growing residential area, sought after for its highly rated schools. Forney was ranked by Homes.com as the 2nd Best Suburban the US to move to in 2021.
Like the rest of the Metroplex, Forney usually has short, generally mild, winters. While freezing temperatures can occur from November through February, prolonged freezing temperatures are rare. During the winter months, the highs are often in the 60s, 70s and 80s. Mid-June through mid-September can be quite hot with peak temperatures in the 90s and 100s. One misconception people have about the Dallas area is that the climate is dry. Actually, the major cities in the US with average annual rainfall closest to Dallas are Chicago and Seattle. The difference is that those cities have far more rainy days than Dallas, which averages around 83 rainy days per year.
